Patna, August 21, 2025: Political strategist-turned-Jan Suraaj leader Prashant Kishor addressed a massive gathering at Sujapur School ground in Barari block of Katihar on Thursday as part of his ongoing Bihar Badlaav Yatra.

Calling the response to his campaign a reflection of 30 years of struggle of Biharis, Kishor urged people to look beyond traditional leaders and vote for change.

Prashant Kishor claims people want education and jobs:

Kishor said that for three decades, people in Bihar had been trapped between Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish-BJP alliance, voting out of fear or compulsion.

“This time, people are not voting for caste or fear. They are voting for their children’s education and employment. In November, a new system of Jan Suraaj is coming. Poverty will end and migration will stop,” he declared.

He took a dig at reports of tension between RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tej Pratap Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav, saying it is irrelevant to ordinary people.

“Whether Lalu’s children fight or befriend each other has nothing to do with Bihar. People want schools, jobs, industries, and relief from floods,” Kishor remarked sarcastically.

Major promises from the Katihar stage:

Making his biggest announcement so far, Prashant Kishor assured people of sweeping welfare measures if his Jan Suraaj initiative comes to power.

“From Chhath 2025, 50 lakh youths from Bihar working outside the state would be called back and given jobs paying Rs 10,000—12,000 per month. From December 2025, all men and women above 60 years of age would get a monthly pension of Rs 2,000, and until government schools improve, children under 15 would be allowed to study in Private schools free of cost, with the government paying their fees.

“This will be the last Diwali and Chhath of Bihar’s misery. After this, the youth will no longer have to migrate for survival. Every poor child will get access to English-medium education,” Kishor said, drawing loud applause.
