Patna, February 12, 2025: Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraj Party, has addressed allegations from the Janata Dal (United) regarding his party’s funding sources.
Neeraj Kumar criticized Prashant Kishor on his party’s funding:
JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar questioned the origins of the funds supporting Kishor’s political activities.
Neeraj Kumar was accused of financial irregularities, alleging that the Jan Suraj party is funded through the Joy of Giving Global Foundation, a charitable organization registered under the Companies Act.
Kumar claimed that this foundation received substantial donations from companies with minimal capital, suggesting potential financial improprieties.
In response, Prashant Kishor emphasized that his earnings are a result of his professional expertise and intellectual endeavours.
He stated, “I have never been an IAS or an IPS officer or in any other government service. I have never been a contractor, nor a member of Parliament or legislature. All that I have earned, I owe to my intellect.”
Prashant Kishor further expressed his commitment to utilizing his resources for the betterment of Bihar’s youth, aiming to empower them and reduce their migration for labour.
He remarked, “Would only the youth of Gujarat have all the money? Even though power is achieved with the votes of the youth of Bihar? This will not be tolerated anymore. The youth of Bihar is not going to be a source of cheap labour forever.”
The Jan Suraj party has dismissed JD(U)’s allegations as baseless and politically motivated:
Senior party leader R. N. Singh stated that the party maintains complete transparency, with all income and expenditure documented and available for public scrutiny.
He challenged JD(U) to initiate an investigation if they believe there are financial irregularities, while also calling for JD(U) to disclose its own funding sources, including donations received through anonymous electoral bonds.
These statements underscore Kishor’s dedication to leveraging his self-acquired resources to foster development and opportunities within Bihar, countering critiques about his party’s financial backing.
