Prashant Kishor fielded candidates for the PUSU election to woo youths 2025 Bihar Poll.

Patna March 19, 2025: Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party has made a significant move by fielding candidates in the Patna University Student Union (PUSU) elections on Wednesday.

As per the announcement, Divesh Dinu will contest for the post of president, Mohammad Danish Wasim will contest for the Vice President post, Ritambana Roy (General Secretary), Anu Kumari (Joint Secretary) and Brijesh Kumar (Treasurer).

Prashant Kumar’s attack on JDU & BJP:

“Nitish Kumar and BJP responsible for the plight of Patna University. This is the reason why, JDU could not even find candidates for the student union elections. ”Prashant Kishor strongly criticized Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and the BJP, holding them responsible for the decline of Patna University’s academic standards and its diminishing reputation.

“15-20 years ago, Patna University produced IAS & IPS officers directly. Today, its academic level has collapsed,” he said.

Failure to make Patna University a Central University:

Prashant Kishor also criticized PM Modi for failing to grant central university status to Patna University, claiming that Nitish Kumar never prioritized education reforms and instead focused on political bargaining for ministerial posts.

“Modi government rejected the demand for central status. Nitish Kumar never pushed for it, instead, he bargaining for ministerial posts and seats,” Kishor said.

He pointed out JDU’s weak position in student politics.

“JDU couldn’t even find a candidate for the student union elections, which shows its declining influence in Bihar, especially among youth,” Kishor said.

“Can you imagine Delhi University being demolished to build a metro? But here in Bihar, the entire Science Department of Patna University has been demolished for a metro project. This is only possible in Bihar, and for this, I hold Nitish Kumar and BJP responsible,” He said.

Prashant Kishor’s remarks indicate a direct attack on both state and central leadership, signaling his growing political ambitions and outreach toward youth and students.

This move signals Kishor’s increasing involvement in student politics, potentially setting the stage for his larger political ambitions in Bihar.

Patna University Student Union Election 2025 will be held on March 29 and the nomination begins from March 10 onwards. The nomination form price is Rs. 50. The results will be declared on March 30.
