Prashant Kishor claims credit for a pension hike and promises Rs. 2000 if Jan Suraj wins.

Patna, June 21, 2025: political strategist and Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor has claimed that the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government increased the Social Security Pension under pressure from Jan Suraj’s continuous agitation. Reacting to the announcement of an increase in monthly pensions from Rs.400 to Rs. 1100, Kishor termed it a “victory of public pressure led by Jan Suraj and democratic accountability.”

“If the Jan Suraj government comes to power in November, this pension amount will be increased further to Rs. 2000,” Kishor said, congratulating lakhs of elderly, widowed, and disabled citizens in Bihar.

“We have been raising this demand for the last two-and-a-half years. The recent move by the government shows that the opposition has begun to matter again,” he said.

Prashant Kishor said that Jan Suraj’s rise has created fear among traditional parties and that Bihar is moving beyond what he called political bonded labour, where people voted for lack of alternatives.

Prashant Kishor attacks Dilip Jaiswal:

In a sharp personal attack, Prashant Kishor questioned BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal’s past, alleging irregularities in his acquisition of a minority-run college.

“He was once a clerk at a Sikh minority college. How did he become the owner? He must explain how many leaders’ children have studied medicine there over the years,” Kishor said.

“If he fails to provide this information, Jan Suraj will make the details public through the press,” he said.

He further accused Jaiswal of making baseless allegations against Jan Suraj and challenged him to get a cyber investigation done. “There is a BJP-led NDA government both in the state and the Centre. Get a cyber expert team to verify your claims. Jaiswal doesn’t even know the difference between a Facebook group and a page,” he mocked

Dynastic politics under fire:

Prashant Kishor also took aim at Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi accusing them of prioritizing family interests over community welfare.

“If they have the courage, Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi should appoint capable leaders from their caste outside their own families as the heads of their parties,” he said.

He lumped them with Lalu Prasad Yadav, stating that: “Lalu is more concerned about Tejashwi Yadav than the Yadav community. Likewise, Chirag and Manjhi are more focused on their own dynasties than on empowering Dalits or Paswans.”
