Patna, July 17, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Motihari, Bihar, on July 18, where he will lay the foundation stone, inaugurate, and dedicate to the nation multiple development projects worth over Rs. 7,200 crore at around 11:30 AM.
He will also address a public gathering during the visit.
PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation of various rail projects:
He will inaugurate automatic signaling on the Samastipur-Bachhwara rail line for efficient operations, doubling of the Darbhanga-Thalwara and Samastipur-Rambhadrapur rail lines under a Rs. 580 crore project to enhance capacity.
He will also lay the foundation stone for the Vande Bharat maintenance infrastructure facility at Patliputra.

Apart from that, an automatic signaling and traction upgrades on the Bhatni-Chhapra Gramin section (114 km) for higher train speeds, Darbhanga-Narkatiaganj rail line doubling project worth Rs. 4,080 crore to increase passenger and freight capacity will also be laid down.
He will flag off four new Amrit Bharat trains like Rajendra Nagar Terminal (Patna)—New Delhi, Bapudham Motihari—Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal), Darbhanga—Lucknow (Gomati Nagar) and Malda Town—Lucknow (Gomati Nagar) via Bhagalpur.
Road connectivity will also be enhanced:
PM Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the 4-laning of the Ara bypass on NH-319 connecting Ara-Mohania and Patna-Buxar highways.
Besides that, the inauguration of the 4-lane Parariya to Mohania section of NH-319 (Rs. 820 crore) to improve freight and passenger movement, the inauguration of a 2-lane paved shoulder road from Sarwan to Chakai on NH-333C, and enhancing connectivity with Jharkhand.
IT and Start-ups:
PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the STPI facility at Darbhanga and the incubation facility at Patna, aiming to boost the IT/ITES/ESDM industries, exports, and the tech startup ecosystem in Bihar.
He will also do the inauguration of multiple fisheries projects under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY), including new fish hatcheries, biofloc units, ornamental fish farming, aquaculture units, and fish feed mills across Bihar.
Such projects are aimed at employment generation, fish production enhancement, and rural entrepreneurship.
Under the rural development and SHGs, he will release Rs. 400 crore to around 61,500 Self-Help Groups under DAY- NRLM, with a focus on women-led development, Griha Pravesh for 12,000 beneficiaries, with PM handing over keys and release of Rs. 160 crore to 40,000 beneficiaries under PM Awas Yojana-Gramin.
