Patna, September 26, 2025: With the Bihar Assembly election just a few weeks ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the state government’s flagship Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana on September 26 at 11 AM through video conferencing.

PM Narendra Modi will transfer Rs 10,000 to beneficiaries:

During the virtual program, PM Narendra Modi will directly transfer Rs 10,000 each to the bank accounts of 75 lakh women across the state, releasing a total of Rs 7,500 crore in the first phase.

As per the scheme, one woman from each family in Bihar will be eligible for financial assistance to begin employment or livelihood activities of her choice.

An initial support of Rs 10,000 will be provided directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.

After six months, an assessment of their employment activity will be conducted. Based on progress, beneficiaries may receive additional financial aid of up to Rs 2 lakh in subsequent phases.

The beneficiaries will get support from the community resource persons linked to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will provide training and guidance.

To boost their sales, Gramin Haat-Bazaars will be upgraded and developed across the state.

The scheme, originally announced by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, was recently cleared by the Bihar cabinet.

Aim of the initiative:

The Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana seeks to make women Atmnirbhar (Self-reliant) by providing the financial foundation for self-employment and micro-entrepreneurship.

The official said that the program will be launched by PM Narendra Modi, will not only empower economically but also help generate livelihood opportunities across rural and urban Bihar.

With Bihar heading toward assembly elections this year, the scheme is expected to play a crucial role in the state’s political and social landscape, especially among women voters.
