Patna, May 4, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing an election rally in Darbhanga Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, launched a sharp attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, linking him to the Godhra train burning incident.
Narendra Modi targeted Lalu Prasad Yadav:
When kar sevaks were burnt alive in Godhra, Shehzade’s (Tejashwi Yadav’s) father (Lalu Prasad Yadav) was the Union Railway Minister. He is now convicted in the fodder scam and out on bail. He had formed the Banerjee Committee, which prepared a report that helped the accused get away. The entire world knew kar sevaks were burnt alive, yet the Railway Minister tried to blame them—but the court later punished the real culprits,” PM Modi said.
He added that the committee’s report “was thrown into the garbage by the court,” calling it a politically motivated attempt to distort facts.
PM Modi also accused the RJD of questioning the surgical strikes and air strikes, alleging that the party uses the mask of “social justice” to promote appeasement politics.
The RJD leaders have always followed the path of appeasement:
“RJD leaders have always followed the path of appeasement. They now see Hindus and Muslim in the army. Those who sacrifice their lives for the nation are Indians first, but these people divide even martyrs by religion. Do we remember Param Veer Chakra winner Veer Abdul Hamid because he was Muslim? No—we remember him for his bravery. These people are trying to divide the country on religious lines,” the Prime Minister said.
