PM Narendra Modi, Nitish Kumar extend New Year 2026 greetings; devotees throng temple in Bihar.

Patna, January 1, 2026: As people across the country welcomed New Year 2026 in their own ways, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended warm greetings to the nation.

In a post on X (Formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister wrote, “Heartiest greetings to all of you for 2026. May the coming year bring you good health and prosperity, success in your endeavors, and fulfillment in all your undertakings. I pray for peace and happiness in our society.”

Nitish Kumar extended his wishes on the New Year:

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and senior leaders also conveyed their New Year wishes to the people of the state and the country.

CM Nitish Kumar, in his message on X, said, Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the people of the state and the country on the occasion. I pray to god that this New Year brings happiness, peace, prosperity, harmony, and endless success to all of you. With everyone’s collective efforts, the resolution to build a happy, prosperous, and glorious Bihar will be fulfilled.”

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary also extended greetings, writing, Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all the people of the country and the state on the occasion of the #English_New_Year_2026. May this New Year bring happiness, prosperity, good health, and new energy to the lives of every village, every city, and every family in Bihar. Let’s go together to strengthen our resolve to build a strong, self-reliant, and developed Bihar.

Another Deputy Chief Minister, Vijay Kumar Sinha, shared his wishes on X, stating, Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all the people of Bihar on the English New Year 2026. May the New Year bring happiness, prosperity, health, and well-being to all your lives.”

Devotees flock to temples and Gurudwaras:

Meanwhile, a large number of devotees were seen visiting temples and Gurudwaras across Patna and other districts of Bihar to mark the beginning of the New Year.

A long queue of devotees was witnessed outside the Hanuman Temple near Patna Railway station, stretching up to R-block Golambar.

Similar scenes were observed at Rajvanshi Nagar Hanuman Temple, Badi and Choti Patan Devi temples in Patna. Sikh devotees also gathered in large numbers at Takht Sri Harimandir Sahib Gurudwara, offering prayers for peace, prosperity, and well-being in the New Year.
