PM Narendra Modi inaugurates New Terminal at Patna Airport, will Lays Foundation for Bihta Airport.

Patna, May 29, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the newly constructed terminal building of Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna on Thursday.
The state-of-the-art facility, built at a cost of Rs. 1,400 crore, spans 65,155 square meters and significantly enhances the airport’s passenger handling capacity.
The new terminal features 54 check-in counters, five aerobridges, eight X-ray baggage scanners, five luggage conveyor belts, a VIP lounge, a cafeteria, and multi-level parking.
With this addition, the airport’s daily passenger handling capacity will increase to 4,500, and its annual capacity will rise from 25 lakh to 1 crore.
The number of daily flights is expected to jump from 34 to 75.
A 100-foot-high national flag and a special gallery honoring Jayprakash Narayan have also been unveiled on the premises.

In addition, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for a new airport at Bihta, 35 km from Patna.

The upcoming facility will be built across 116 acres and cover 68,000 square meters, with the ability to manage 3,000 passengers per hour and up to 50 lakhs annually.
Narendra Modi started roadshow in Patna:
Following the inauguration, the Prime Minister started a roadshow from the airport to the BJP office on Veer Chand Patel Path.
Thousands of citizens lined the route, and BJP workers showcased large cutouts of Operation Sindoor and the BrahMos missile.
At the BJP office, PM Modi is scheduled to meet party leaders before spending the night at Raj Bhawan. On Friday, he will address a major rally in Bikramganj, Rohtas district.

This marks the Prime Minister’s first visit to Bihar after Operation Sindoor and his fifth visit to the state this year.
