Patna, July 18, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in East Champaran, where he held a road show in Motihari before inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 7,200 crore at Gandhi Maidan.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy CMs Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha joined PM Narendra Modi during the roadshow, which witnessed enthusiastic participation from the public.
CM Nitish Kumar welcomes PM Narendra Modi:
Ahead of the event, CM Nitish Kumar extended a warm welcome to the Prime Minister, describing today’s projects as a big gift to Bihar.
In a social media post, CM Nitish wrote: “In the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under the vision of Developed Bihar for Developed India, the foundation stone and inauguration of development projects related to rail, road, fisheries, rural development, and information technology worth more than Rs. 7,200 crore will take place in Motihari today. Along with this, four new Amrit Bharat Express trains will also be launched. The Prime Minister is welcome to the land of Bihar.”

He added, “You are giving a big gift to Bihar today. These projects will prove important in accelerating the state’s development. Heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to the respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this important initiative in the interest of Bihar. It is our aim that Bihar reaches new heights every day.”
The projects:
Today’s inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremony will cover projects in rail, road, fisheries, rural development, and IT sectors.
The launch of four new Amrit Bharat Express trains is also expected to enhance Bihar’s rail connectivity.
The visit is seen as part of the government’s push to accelerate development in Bihar, especially in the run-up to the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
