Patna, June 2, 2024: Patna police on Sunday arrested one person in connection with the attack on the convoy of outgoing Patliputra MP Ram Kripal Yadav.
According to police, Yadav was travelling to Masaudhi around 7.30 pm on Saturday when several people allegedly attacked his convoy near Gopalpur Math village.
Two individuals were injured in the incident, though Patna police clarified that no one received grievous injuries.
Patna police registered an FIR:
The arrested accused has been identified as Vikas Yadav, a resident of Gopalpur Math under the Masaudhi Police station limits.
Patna Police City SP (West) Bharat Soni confirmed the arrest, adding that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed and efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.
An FIR has been registered against nine named accused, including Akhilesh Yadav, Suraj Yadav, Bittu Yadav, Vikas Yadav, Gautam Yadav, Aditya Yadav, Satyendra Yadav, Sagar Yadav and Sonty Yadav, along with 35 to 40 unidentified individuals.
Ram Kripal Yadav’s allegation:
Meanwhile, Ram Kripal Yadav alleged that the attackers were RJD supporters.
“They attacked me, my sons, and BJP supporters. This was an act of RJD supporters, done out of fear of defeat. Our workers were also attacked in Bikram, Danapur, Paliganj and Dhanarua during and after polling on Saturday. I fear how many more attacks will take place after the election victory,” he said.
