Patna, July 20, 2025: The Patna Metro project has achieved a significant milestone as three metro coaches from Pune have arrived in the city on Sunday.

Transported over 8-9 days on a special 74-wheel heavy truck, these coaches have been safely placed at the metro depot located at ISBT.

Patna Metro trial run by early August:

Once the technical team completes assembling all parts, a trial run is scheduled on the ISBT to Malahi Pakadi stretch, during which technical tests will be conducted, and any identified flaws will be addressed.

The authorities are aiming to complete the trial run by the first week of August, paving the way for Metro’s operation to commence from August 15.

Route and capacity of Patna Metro:

The 6.1 km stretch between ISBT to Malahi Pakadi under the priority corridor of Metro stations on the routes are Malahi Pakadi, Khemnichak, Bhootnath road, Zeromile and ISBT.

The three-coach metro train will have a seating and standing capacity for 900 passengers, expected to significantly ease congestion in Patna.

Patna Metro is a dream project of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Special transportation and logistics:

The truck carrying the coaches travelled at a maximum speed of 20 km/h to ensure safe transport.
