Patna, August 27, 2025: The bogies of Patna Metro have now been unveiled in a saffron color scheme, adorned with exquisite Madhubani artwork and paintings depicting Bihar’s historical and cultural landmarks.
The design features iconic sites such as Golghar, Mahavir Mandir, the Mahabodhi Tree, Buddha Stupa, and the ruins of Nalanda University, offering a blend of modern infrastructure with rich cultural symbolism.
Patna Metro has three coaches:
Each metro train will comprise three bogies, with a capacity of around 300 passengers per coach, including seating and standing arrangements.
Work is also underway to install stickers on the gates, windows, and outer panels, while the interiors are being designed to be passenger-friendly, safe, and comfortable.
According to sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to inaugurate the Patna Metro next month, with preparations now in the final stage.
Nitish Kumar inspected Patna Metro earlier:
Earlier, on August 19, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the project’s progress at the Bairia terminal, reviewing the metro coaches, tracks, power supply system, and the maintenance yard.
The Bairia terminal complex is being developed as a key hub for metro halts, sanitation, and repair work, along with an administrative building to oversee operations.
CM Nitish Kumar instructed officials to expedite the construction to ensure timely completion.
The Patna Metro Rail Project is expected to ease city traffic, improve accessibility, and mark a significant step towards making Patna’s transport system more modern and efficient, while simultaneously promoting Bihar’s cultural heritage.
In the first phase, Patna metro will run between the Bairia ISBT terminal to Malahi Pakadi via Zero Mile. Bhoothnath Road and Khemnichak metro station.
