Patliputra MP criticized Nitish Kumar, saying his inspection of Chhath Ghats is more symbolic than practical.

Patna November 4, 2024: Patliputra MP Misa Bharti criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s approach to inspecting Chhath Ghats, arguing that his visits are more symbolic than practical.

Patliputra MP Misa Bharti inspected Nasriganj Ghat:

Misa Bharti visited the Nasriganj Chhath Ghats in Patna which comes under her constituency Patliputra. She inspected the Chhath Ghat and gave the necessary instructions to the authorities.

“Nitish Kumar’s inspections often take place by air or water routes, which allows him to avoid direct engagement with the public. Even during flood situations, Kumar opts for aerial and water-based inspections rather than getting on the ground to understand people’s concerns,” Patliputra MP Misa Bharti said.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspects Chhath Ghat by steamer, but it’s not the way we do it,’ she remarked, suggesting that her approach involves a more personal and hands-on method.

Patliputra MP Misa Bharti added that Kumar doesn’t meet with ward councilors or local residents during these visits, missing an opportunity to understand and address their issues.

Bharti also highlighted Kumar’s lack of communication with the media about preparation efforts, saying, “He never considers it appropriate to tell anyone what he says or does, whether he holds meetings or anything.”

Her comments underline her belief that the Chief minister’s inspections are performative, lacking the transparency and responsiveness needed to address local concerns effectively.

Patliputra MP Misa Bharti also criticized Giriraj Singh:

Patliputra MP Misa Bharti also aimed at Union Textile Minister Giriraj Singh, accusing him of focusing on self-promotion rather than substantive contributions to Bihar.

The Patliputra MP questioned Singh’s impact as a textile minister, particularly in regions like Bhagalpur and Motihari, which are known for their potential in textiles and cottage industries.

“How many factories and cottage industries has he set up in Bihar’s Bhagalpur or Motihari?” she asked, pointing out what she sees as a lack of development initiative in these areas under Singh’s tenure.

She also criticized Singh’s recent comments about a perceived threat to Hindus, calling the remarks baseless. She highlighted that Singh’s party is in power at the centre, and questioned who he believes poses a danger.

“We are living in India, not Pakistan. Who is in danger? Please tell us. Who are you scared of? Your own Prime Minister or the people of the country?” Bharti asked.

These remarks reflect Bharti’s broader critique of central leadership, pressing officials like Singh to focus on tangible progress for Bihar rather than rhetoric that, according to her, diverts attention from local needs.
