Patna December 30, 2024: Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan, commonly known as Pappu Yadav, met Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar on Monday amid the ongoing protests against the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).
Yadav submitted a memorandum highlighting significant issues with the 70th BPSC Combined Preliminary Test (PT) examination and the treatment of protesting candidates.
Pappu Yadav demanded for the cancellation of the examination:
Pappu Yadav called for the cancellation of the 70th BPSC PT examination held on December 13, citing widespread irregularities.
He alleged that the question papers leaked on the day of the examination and were circulating on social media, raising serious questions about the examination’s secrecy and impartiality.
Question Papers were reportedly distributed late at the Bapu Examination Centre and other venues, disrupting the examination process.
Yadav criticized the lack of transparency in the conduct of the examination. He highlighted that many candidates carried mobile phones inside the Bapu Examination Centre in Patna, violating rules. Videos from the examination hall went viral on social media, exposing compromised security measures.
Yadav condemned the Patna police for initiating Lathi-charges thrice against candidates, who were reportedly protesting peacefully.
“We have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure accountability and justice. I have appealed to Bihar governor to take immediate action into the matter,” Yadav said.
Pappu Yadav demanded the withdrawal of FIRs:
He urged the Governor to withdraw the FIRs that failed against protesting candidates, emphasizing that the agitation was a legitimate effort to secure their future and ensure fairness in the examination process.
Pappu Yadav’s intervention highlights the growing concerns among candidates and the demand for accountability and justice in handling the examination and subsequent protests.
In his statements, Yadav reiterated the importance of addressing the candidates’ grievances transparently and safeguarding their democratic right to protest peacefully. The incidents have added to the growing unrest over the BPSC examination’s integrity and the handling of the agitation.
