Patna, June 7, 2024: Newly elected Purnea MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav on Friday claimed that the Narendra Modi—led NDA government “will collapse within a year.” Yadav made the remarks while interacting with media persons in Darbhanga.
“I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi for forming the government at the Centre for the third time, but I must say that it will not last for more than one year,” Yadav asserted.
Pappu Yadav claimed the popularity of PM Modi is declining:
He claimed that the Prime Minister’s popularity had “declined significantly” and argued that the mandate was not in favor of a Modi-led majority government.
“The people of the country have not given him the mandate. The BJP fought the election in Modi’s name, and because of him, the party lost 65 to 70 seats. Forget crossing 400—BJP could not even secure a majority on its own,” he said.
He added that ideological differences within the NDA would eventually destabilize the government.
“Nitish Kumar and N. Chandrababu Naidu follow the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi. A clash of ideology with the BJP is inevitable,” he claimed.
He further predicted that the Bihar Assembly elections could be advanced to November or December this year. “Nitish Kumar feels that an early election will benefit his party. He believes the positive wave from the Lok Sabha election may help him if the Assembly polls are held in 2024.” Yadav said.
Pappu Yadav said Chandrababu Naidu is holding a key in the Modi government:
On Chandrababu Naidu, Yadav remarked, “When he feels that Modi’s influence is going wrong in the southern states, Naidu will walk away.”
Pappu Yadav also urged the Prime Minister to shift focus from communal politics to real issues.
“I request Narendra Modi to talk about policy, employment and the poor. He is the Prime Minister of the whole country. He should leave Hindu—Muslim politics. I hope Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu will not allow such politics in the NDA government,” he added.
