Patna, October 15, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will kick-start his election campaign for the upcoming Bihar Assembly poll from Samastipur on Thursday.

Confirming this, Sanjay Kumar Jha, the national working president of JDU, said that Nitish Kumar is also expected to visit Darbhanga on the same day.

“With this, our party’s election campaign will officially begin on Thursday,” Jha told reporters in Patna.

Nitish Kumar’s party will announce its first list on Wednesday:

He further informed that the JDU’s first list of candidates will be released on Wednesday afternoon.

The party has reportedly allotted election symbols to several candidates ahead of the formal announcement.

Under the seat-sharing arrangement within the NDA, the JDU and BJP are contesting 101 seats each, while Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas (LJPRV) has been allotted 29 seats, Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) 6 seats and Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) 6 seats.

Upendra Kushwaha is unhappy with the seat-sharing adjustment:

Meanwhile, reports suggest that Upendra Kushwaha is unhappy with the seat allocation, particularly over the Mahua and Chakai constituencies, which were allotted to the LJPRV.

Speaking to reporters at Patna airport, Kushwaha confirmed that he was leaving for New Delhi to meet Home Minister Amit Shah to resolve the issue.

“I am going to New Delhi to meet Amit Shah. The matter will be settled soon,” he said.

Upendra Kushwaha is accompanied by MoS Home Nityanand Rai to Delhi for the discussions.

Nitish Kumar’s campaign launch marks a crucial phase for the NDA, as all major alliances prepare to intensify their election activities across Bihar ahead of the two-phase polling scheduled for November 6 and 11.
