Patna, November 19, 2025: As a crucial NDA meeting was held on Wednesday in the Central Hall of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, Nitish Kumar was unanimously elected as the leader of the NDA legislative party.
The meeting was attended by all 202 newly elected MLAs of the alliance, apart from senior leaders, including Chirag Paswan and Upendra Kushwaha.
Samrat Choudhary proposed the name of Nitish Kumar:
During the meeting, Samrat Choudhary formally proposed Kumar’s name for the top post, which was immediately seconded by Vijay Kumar Sinha.
With unanimous support, Kumar was chosen to lead the NDA once again.
Following his election, Kumar greeted the assembled MLAs with folded hands.
After the meeting concluded, he left for Raj Bhavan to present his claim to the Governor and formally initiate the formation of the new government.
Alliance leaders praised Nitish Kumar and the NDA unity:
Prominent NDA leaders expressed gratitude and confidence in the alliance’s victory and future governance.
Upendra Kushwaha, the national president of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), thanked the women voters of Bihar for their decisive support.
He said the victory was a result of the combined efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and credited unprecedented grassroots coordination among the alliance partners.
“The public blessed the NDA after seeing the work of PM Modi and CM Kumar. For the first time, there was strong coordination among constituent parties,” he said.
“I believe that under the leadership of Nitish Kumar and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we will deliver on every promise made in the manifesto.” Vijay Kumar Choudhary highlighted a record turnout among women voters, saying that both women and youth were enthusiastic about supporting the NDA.
Chirag Paswan welcomes Nitish Kumar’s leadership:
After the meeting, Union Food Processing Minister Chirag Paswan said, “Chief Minister Kumar has been elected as the leader of the NDA legislative party. After the swearing-in ceremony on Thursday, every promise made in the manifesto will be fulfilled one by one.”
