Patna, August 11, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday laid the foundation stone for six key infrastructure projects in Patna’s urban area, worth Rs. 766.73 crore, as part of announcements made during his Pragati Yatra in the district.
The schemes include the construction and widening of the road with underground drainage from Rupaspur Canal to Saguna Mor along Nehru Path.
Apart from that, widening of AIIMS Golambar—Janipur—Naubatpur road, construction of a 1.015 km flyover at Naubatpur Lakh on the Naubatpur—Masaurhi road, widening and strengthening of Nehru Path to Gola Road and widening of Rupaspur Canal Path to Khagaul Nehru Path—Ashok Rajpath, connecting Nehru Path to Patali Path.
Among the major works, Nitish Kumar laid the foundation for the Rs. 138.5 crore, 10.5 km widening and strengthening of the AIIMS Golambar—Janipur—Painapur Neva Junction section of the Bihta-Sarmera Patna Ring Road, and the Rs. 73.06 crore Naubatpur Lakh flyover.
He also initiated the Rs. 143.86 crore connectivity project linking Digha—AIIMS Patali Path to Nehru Path towards Danapur.
Nitish Kumar claimed these projects will ease communication in West Patna:
Speaking at the event, Nitish Kumar said that linking Neva to the Bihta—Sarmera road will significantly ease traffic movement for residents of Phulwarisharif, AIIMS, Danapur, Naubatpur, and western Patna.
“These projects will decongest traffic in western Patna, improve connectivity to Masaurhi, AIIMS, J.P. Setu, and boost industrial, economic, and social development,” Kumar said.
Nitish Kumar also paid homage to the martyrs of 1942:
On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, Nitish Kumar paid tribute to the “seven immortal martyrs” of the Quit India Movement—Umakant Prasad Singh, Ramanand Singh, Satish Prasad Jha, Jagatpati Kumar, Devipad Choudhary, Rajendra Singh, and Ram Govind Singh.
