Nitish Kumar launches several development projects in Purnea and Katihar during Samriddhi Yatra.

Patna, March 12, 2026: As part of the third phase of the Samriddhi Yatra, Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar, visited Purnea on Thursday and addressed a large public dialogue program at the Indira Gandhi Stadium.

Reaffirming his commitment to the development of the region, the Chief Minister urged people to work together for the overall progress of Bihar.

Multiple projects launched by Nitish Kumar in Purnea:

During the event, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for 8 projects and inaugurated 84 development projects and dedicated them to the people of Purnea.

Upon his arrival at the helipad in Purnea, Nitish Kumar received a grand welcome from party leaders and workers.

 He also inspected ongoing development work at the Puran Devi Temple and provided directions to officials.

The Chief Minister further visited the newly constructed district-level office of the Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Department, where he interacted with livestock farmers and reviewed stalls set up by different departments to showcase their schemes and initiatives.

Nitish Kumar also distributed cheques to beneficiaries of several government schemes during the program.

Major announcements in Katihar:

After concluding the program in Purnea, the Chief Minister proceeded to Katihar as part of the ongoing Samriddhi Yatra.

 There, he laid the foundation stone for 186 projects and inaugurated and dedicated 257 projects to the public.

Speaking on the occasion, Nitish Kumar said his government remains committed to accelerating development in Purnea and Katihar districts and strengthening infrastructure and welfare initiatives across Vihar.

 Several senior leaders and public representatives attended the event, including Samrat Choudhary, Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Water Resources Minister, Shravan Kumar, Minister, Leshi Singh, Minister, Vijay Khemka, Purnea sadar MLA, and Kaladhar Mandal, Rupauli MLA.

The Samriddhi Yatra is aimed at reviewing development works and interacting with citizens across different districts of Bihar.
