Patna, October 4, 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday laid the foundation stone for a  Rs 250 crore Mother Dairy plant, a subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), in Jamalpur, Munger district.

Spread across 15 acres of BIARDA land, the plant is expected to provide direct employment to 250 people and strengthen the rural dairy network with village-level milk collection and chilling facilities.

Currently equipped to collect one lakh litres of milk daily, the capacity will be scaled up to two lakh litres in the coming years.

Nitish Kumar said the project would boost the economy of Munger and the surrounding districts, besides ensuring a packaged milk supply for children.

Nitish Kumar also launched other development projects:

Alongside the CM also launched development projects worth over Rs 12,000 crore for Munger and nearby areas, including a Rs 209 crore mustard seed processing unit.

Addressing a gathering at JSA Ground, Jamalpur, Nitish Kumar made a major announcement.

“In the next five years, one crore youths will be given government jobs and employment opportunities. Already, 10 lakh people have been given government jobs and 40 lakh people have been employed under our government. No such work was done in previous governments,” he said.

Nitish Kumar highlighted achievements under the Saat Nischay program, under which 50 lakh people have already received jobs and employment, surpassing the initial promise of 10 lakh.

Nitish Kumar said that enhanced social security pension for senior citizens, widows, and disabled individuals from Rs 400 to Rs 1,100 and 125 units of free electricity to every household apart from marriage halls in every panchayat.

Under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana (Chief Minister’s Women Employment Scheme), financial support is being provided to women—Rs 10,000 for every household, with incentives up to Rs 2 lakh for outstanding works.

Nitish Kumar praised PM Modi for supporting Bihar:

“The central government is also supporting us, and for that, I thank PM Modi,” Kumar said.

The Chief Minister contrasted the present with conditions before 2005, asserting that his government brought the rule of law to Bihar.

“The previous government did nothing. Since we came to power, we have worked continuously to develop Bihar. The situation is far better now,” he added.

He also detailed local development projects, including the ring road in Tarapur and around Munger, the renovation of Rishikund, the beautification of Kashtharani Ghat, improved tourist access to Bhim Dam, and infrastructure for the Yoga school.
