Nitish Kumar inaugurates, lays foundation of 69 projects worth Rs 538 crore in Saran during Samtriddhi Yatra.

Patna, January 21, 2026: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 69 development projects worth Rs 538 crore in Saran district as part of his ongoing Samriddhi Yatra, aimed at accelerating inclusive growth across the state.

During the visit, Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for 45 projects worth Rs 451 crore and inaugurated 24 projects worth Rs 87 crore.

He also held a public dialogue, reviewed the implementation of development and welfare schemes, and interacted directly with beneficiaries.

As part of the Samriddhi Yatra to build a prosperous Bihar, I conducted an on-site inspection of development projects in Saran district and reviewed the progress of various schemes,” Kumar said.

Nitish Kumar inaugurated Jeevika Didis tailoring training centre:

The Chief Minister inaugurated the Jeevika Didis tailoring training-cum-production centre in Chhapra and inspected multiple development stalls showcasing government initiatives.

He also distributed cheques to beneficiaries of various welfare schemes.

“I inspected the Jeevika Didis tailoring centre and the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Chhapra Sadar and gathered information about the resources and facilities available there,” Kumar said. During a review meeting with officials, CM Nitish Kumar directed them to ensure that all projects are completed on time, with quality and transparency, and that the benefits of government schemes reach the last persons in society.

He also addressed the public gathering during an interaction program.

Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, Power Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav, Saran MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Maharajganj MP Janardan Singh Sigriwal, and several other leaders were present on the occasion.

Nitish Kumar began the Samriddhi Yatra from West Champaran on January 17 and has since covered East Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Gopalganj, and now Saran, reviewing development works and welfare initiatives across districts.
