Patna December 12, 2024: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar flagged off 109 medicine vehicles under the Swasth Bihar Mission on Thursday.

Such an initiative marked a significant step towards improving healthcare access in the state, especially for villagers in remote areas.

Deployment of Medicine Vehicles:

The medicine vehicles are specially designed to operate at block and level Panchayat, ensuring a widespread reach across rural Bihar.

They will distribute medicines free of cost, making healthcare more affordable and accessible.

These medicines vehicles are equipped with GPS systems for tracking from centralized control rooms in Patna, ensuring accountability and operational efficiency. GPS tracking ensures efficient resource allocation and helps monitor the delivery of healthcare services.

Through this mission, the Bihar government is focused on serving villagers unable to reach primary health centres (PHCs) or common health centres (CHCs).

Broader Health Infrastructure Improvements:

The Bihar government has enhanced facilities in medical colleges and Sadar hospitals in the state. Apart from that expansion of operational primary, common, and sub-divisional health centres to cater to the healthcare needs of a larger population.

The objective of the mission is to strengthen health infrastructure and promote equitable healthcare access across the state.
