Patna, July 16, 2025: Ahead of the Bihar assembly elections, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has instructed the Education Department to conduct the TRE 4 examination for teacher recruitment at the earliest.
Nitish Kumar confirmed this directive through a post on X (formerly Twitter).
“We have told the Education Department to immediately calculate the vacancies of teachers in government schools and take prompt action to conduct the TRE-4 examination for appointments,” the CM posted.
Nitish Kumar said quota for women only for Bihar’s residents:
Nitish Kumar reiterated that 35% reservation for women in government jobs will apply only to women who are residents of Bihar, clarifying the government’s position ahead of the crucial recruitment drive.
Background on teacher recruitment in Bihar
The state government has already conducted TRE-1, TRE-2, and TRE-3 examinations, leading to large-scale teacher appointments in Bihar.
The decision to limit the 35% women’s reservation to Bihar’s residents aims to benefit local women and girls seeking government jobs.
Pre-poll strategy against the opposition’s unemployment push:
The Labour Resources Department’s proposal to provide jobs and employment to one crore youth in Bihar over the next five years has also received cabinet approval.
The announcement aligns with Nitish Kumar’s pre-poll promise, which surprised the opposition and weakened their unemployment plank.
To implement this promise effectively, a high-level committee under Development Commissioner Pratyay Amrit will be formed to explore options for job creation and advise the government on structured employment rollout.
