Patna, March 17, 2026: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday commenced the fourth phase of his Samriddhi Yatra from Bhagalpur, where he reviewed the progress of ongoing development works and assessed the implementation of announcements made during the earlier Pragati Yatra.
During the visit, the chief minister sought detailed updates from various government departments regarding their action plans and execution status.
In Bhagalpur, Nitish Kumar laid the foundation stone for 56 projects and inaugurated 88 projects, dedicating them to the public.
Among key initiatives, he laid the foundation for the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Mandap in Baijani Gram Panchayat under Jagdishpur block.
He also inaugurated and launched several other development schemes across the district aimed at improving infrastructure and public services.
The chief minister inspected departmental stalls set up at the venue, interacted with beneficiaries of various schemes, and distributed checks to encourage them.
The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and Bhagalpur’s Minister-in-charge Dilip Jaiswal, among others.
Addressing the gathering, Nitish Kumar said, “Let us work together to fulfil the vision of a ‘Viksit Bihar’ (Developed Bihar) and build a prosperous state.”
Nitish Kumar visited the Banka district:
Continuing his Samriddhi Yatra, the Chief Minister later reached the Banka district, where he significantly expanded development outreach.
In Banka, he laid foundation stones for 219 projects and inaugurated 278 projects, marking a major push for infrastructure and welfare initiatives in the region.

He also inaugurated the community health centre at Kotaria and dedicated it to public service.
During the visit, Nitish Kumar interacted with ASHA workers, distributed cheques to beneficiaries, and inspected departmental stalls set up at the Degree College campus in Katoria.
Teacher recruitment announcement:
Highlighting employment efforts, the Chief Minister announced that 45,000 teachers are currently being recruited under the Bihar Teacher Recruitment (TRE-4) drive through the Bihar Public Service Commission.

The program was attended by several public representatives and officials, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, and Amarpur MLA Jayant Raj.
