Patna November 9, 2024: Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar, made statements directed at the Muslim community during an election meeting in the Tarari assembly constituency on Saturday, and assure them of his continued support and to caution against opposition influences.
Nitish Kumar said Muslims need not to worry till he is in Bihar:
Nitish Kumar emphasized his commitment to safeguarding the community’s interests, particularly underlining that while he holds office in Bihar, the Muslim community has nothing to fear.
Highlighting his administration’s efforts’ Kumar said, “We have granted government recognition to Madrasas and ensured that their teachers receive salaries on par with government teachers.”
“The approach of opposition parties, including RJD and Congress, for exploiting Muslim voters without addressing their needs meaningfully,” Kumar said.
His comments appear to reinforce his position with the BJP, aiming to secure the confidence of Muslim voters amidst upcoming elections.
The event saw notable leaders in attendance, including Union Minister Chirag Paswan, Bihar Minister Vijay Chaudhary, JD(U) State President Umesh Kushwaha, and former Union Minister RK Singh, reflecting a united front in Bihar’s coalition government.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, addressing a rally in Tarari, emphasized his administration’s achievements for the Muslim community and sought to consolidate their support for the BJP-led NDA in the state.
“The work our government has done to uplift the community, that no previous administration has matched these efforts,” Kumar said.
He questioned the community’s voting patterns, subtly urging them to reconsider any support for opposition parties and suggesting that those parties, such as RJD, have failed to address their concerns meaningfully.
Nitish Kumar emphasized he will remain in NDA:
Kumar reiterated his decision to remain committed to the NDA and ruled out any future alliances with the RJD-led Grand Alliance, noting his past dissatisfaction with the coalition.
He openly acknowledged joining the Grand Alliance twice to form the government but characterized those moves as mistakes he would not repeat.
In a gesture of assurance, he declared his continued alliance with the BJP, signaling unity to his coalition partners and voters alike.
Reflecting on Bihar’s condition prior to 2005, Kumar spoke of the “Jungle Raj” era, marked by widespread lawlessness, failing infrastructure, and a struggling education system.
He credited his partnership with the BJP for enabling Bihar’s transformation, citing improvements in roads, schools, and overall public infrastructure.
According to Kumar, these changes have brought stability, dispelling the atmosphere of fear that once plagued the state.
Kumar’s rally was part of his campaign for BJP candidate Vishal Prashant in the Tarari by-election.
This seat opened up after Sudama Prasad of CPI-ML vacated it upon winning the Arrah parliamentary seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
