Nitish Kumar announced the creation of 10 lakh more jobs.

Patna October 5, 2024: Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar made an important announcement of employing 10 lakh people in the next 1 year.

Speaking at a JD(U) state executive committee meeting in Patna, Kumar said, “We have already given employment to 24 lakh people during our tenure, we will give employment to 10 lakhs more people of the state,” Kumar said.

The promise of Nitish Kumar is seen as part of the ruling coalition’s strategy to prepare for the 2025 assembly elections and attract voters.

This declaration signals that employment will be a central theme in JD(U)’s campaign. In a state where unemployment remains a significant issue, Kumar’s focus on job creation could appeal to a large portion of the electorate, particularly the youth.

Nitish Kumar also reiterated his long-standing advocacy for special status or special package for Bihar.

“I want to appeal to the party workers to communicate to the public about the achievements of the state government, particularly in supporting minorities,” he said.

Nitish KUmar emphasized that a special package for flood relief would be sought from the central government.

“We will contest the assembly election 2025 under NDA. I made the mistakes twice in aligning with the opposition and I would not repeat the same again. I want to make it clear that JD(U) is firmly with the NDA,” Kumar said.

Bihar Water Resource Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary echoed this sentiment, asserting that Nitish Kumar will lead the NDA in the 2025 election, aiming for a larger majority than before.

“We will launch a program Sangat-Pangat to strengthen relationships within the NDA and announced a target of winning over 220 seats in the next assembly election,” Chaudhary said.

With employment and development emerging as central issues, JD(U) is positioning itself strongly for the upcoming elections. How the opposition, particularly RJD responds to this strategy will be a key factor in shaping Bihar’s political landscape leading up to 2025.
