New Delhi, December 28, 2025: BJP National Working President Nitin Nabin has been allotted a government bungalow in Delhi’s prestigious Lutyens’ Zone, making him a neighbour of Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
Nitin Nabin has been allotted Bungalow Number 9, Sunheri Bagh Road, while Rahul Gandhi’s residence is located at 5, Sunehri Bagh Road, just a short distance away.
Nitin Nabin is expected to shift to his new residence soon.
It is a long-standing tradition that the national president of the ruling party is allotted an official government residence in Delhi.
Nitin Nabin was appointed as the BJP’s National Working President on December 14 and arrived in Delhi on December 15.
Since then, he had been staying at Bihar Niwas before receiving the bungalow.
He has been allotted a Type-8 bungalow, which is reserved for senior political leaders, indicating his growing stature within the party.
Nitin Nabin is set to become the BJP National President:
Political circles believe that Nitin Nabin is almost certain to be elected as the BJP National President in January 2026.
The election process is expected to be completed between January 18 to 20.
The situation mirrors the president set in 2018 when JP Nadda was first appointed as National Working President and later elevated to the post of national president.
If elected, Nitin Nabin will become the youngest national president in the BJP’s history.

His term is expected to last until January 2029, coinciding with the Next Lok Sabha elections, and may be extended further if required.
According to the BJP sources, preparation is underway to convene a meeting of the state BJP president in Delhi after January 15.
As per the BJP constitution, the national president can be elected only after organizational elections are completed in more than half of the states.
The BJP has completed organizational elections in 29 out of 37 states, fulfilling the constitutional requirement.
State BJP presidents from these states will submit sets of nomination papers in support of Nitin Nabin.
In addition, members of the BJP National Council will file separate nominations backing his candidature.
Likely unopposed election:
There is strong speculation that the nomination papers supporting Nitin Nabin will carry the signatures of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
BJP leader K Laxman has been appointed as the election officer for the organizational elections.

Sources confirm that Nitin Nabin will be the sole candidate for the post.
After scrutiny of the nomination papers, election officer K Laxman is expected to formally announce his election as the BJP’s national president.
