
Patna April 19: With the voting started in Bihar for the first phase, a newly wedded couple reached the polling center to use voting rights on Friday.
The marriage of Susmita Kumari and Pradeep Kumar was held on Thursday night and the bride along with her groom reached the polling booth number 1941 which comes under Sheikhpura city council in Jamui Lok Sabha constituency. Susmita Kumari is a resident of Sheikhpura and hence she casted her votes.
The arrival of the newly wedded couple attracted the attention of polling officers and security personnel at the center. They welcomed them and also circulated the photograph on the official website of the election commission of Bihar.
In Jamui, the contest for this Lok Sabha seat is mainly taking place between Arun Bharti of LJPR and Archana Ravidas of RJD.
The polling started at 7 am on Friday and it will take place till 6 pm. In the naxal affected areas, the polling will take place between 7 am to 4 pm.
The polling is currently underway peacefully in Bihar’s 4 Lok Sabha constituencies Jamui, Nawada, Aurangabad and Gaya.
