Nawada police arrested five cybercriminals.

Patna July 31: Nawada police arrested five cybercriminals during a raid in the district’s Warsaliganj area on Wednesday.

The accused are identified as Pankaj Kumar, Rohit Kumar, Rajpal Kumar, Rahul Kumar and Rohit. They are the native of Warsaliganj.

The accused were operating from a park in Chakway-Balwapar village under the jurisdiction of Warsaliganj police station. The raiding team has seized 9 mobile phones and 25 pages of leaked documents of customers from their possessions.

Mahesh Kumar Chaudhary, the SDPO of the Pakribarawa subdivision of Nawada district, stated, “We learned about some cyber criminals operating in the Chakway village. Accordingly, a special team was constituted following the direction of the district SP and we raided the place. Upon seeing the police team approaching, they tried to flee. We chased them and managed to nab five of them, while others escaped.” Mahesh Kumar Chaudhary, the SDOP of Pakribarawa subdivision of Nawada district, said.

Chaudhary, who led the raiding team explained: “We have received complaints about the cyber fraud cases in the past and our team was investigating them. Meanwhile, we got information about some cyber criminals who were active in the region.

They were posed as employees of Dhani Finance company which is a part of India Bulls Private Ltd, to lure potential customers for fake loans, When any person fell into their trap, they cheated him. The accused confessed that they have cheated many people across the country,” the SDPO of Nawada police, said.

Earlier on July 27, 11 persons who were part of a cyber fraud gang, were arrested by Nawada police. They were also using the same modus operandi and posed as employees of Dhani Finance.
