New Delhi, February 18, 2026: Union Minister of Power Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday inaugurated the Ministry of Power pavilion at the AI Impact Summit 2026 held at Bharat Mandapam.

The pavilion underscores India’s commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence to build a future-ready, efficient, and resilient power sector.

The pavilion presents a forward-looking vision of the power ecosystem under the theme “From Megawatts to Megabytes: Transforming India’s power ecosystem.”

It highlights how digital and AI-driven technologies are reshaping power generation, transmission, and distribution across the country.

Manohar Lal Khattar highlighted the Ministry of Power pavilion at the summit:

AI-powered power for a self-reliant India demonstrates how advanced digital solutions can improve governance and enable data-driven decision-making across the power value chain.

The Startup Zone is a dedicated platform highlighting innovative, startup-led solutions contributing to the transformation of India’s energy ecosystem.

PG-AMRIT initiative asset management through Artificial Intelligence in transmission—an AI-enabled program by PowerGrid to enhance transmission asset monitoring and operational efficiency.

Abhash’s early warning system is an AI/ML and IoT-based real-time monitoring and flood forecasting platform designed to improve dam and barrage safety through proactive risk management.

AI-powered RDSS implementation deployment of advanced indigenous technologies to address operational efficiency and revenue management challenges faced by Indian power distribution companies (Discoms).

The pavilion reflects the Ministry of Power’s focus on integrating cutting-edge AI technologies to strengthen infrastructure reliability, improve operational efficiency, and promote sustainable development in the power sector.

Visit to DMRC pavilion:

The Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar also visited the exhibition set up by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) at the summit.

Vikas Kumar, Managing Director, DMRC, briefed the minister on the organization’s AI-driven initiatives,

DMRC officials said artificial intelligence is enabling faster resolution of customer complaints and passenger issues.

AI is also being deployed in critical maintenance operations, including monitoring overhead electrification (OHE), pantograph—OHE interactions, wheel grinding, rolling stock subsystems, and signaling systems.
