Patna, March 30, 2024: The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) (LJPR) on Saturday released the names of its candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, finalizing its key contenders in Bihar.
The party has fielded Rajesh Verma from Khagaria, Veena Devi from Vaishali, Shambhavi Choudhary from Samastipur (SC Reserved), Arun Bharti from Jamui and Chirag Paswan himself from Hajipur.
Arun Bharti has already filed his nomination on March 28, 2024.
LJPR gave tickets to new generation and experienced leaders:
Rajesh Verma hails from Bhagalpur district. A former district president of LJP, he has also served as the deputy mayor of Bhagalpur.
Veena Devi, who won the 2019 Lok Sabha poll from Vaishali on an LJP ticket, had shifted to Pashupati Kumar Paras’s RLJP after the party split but returned to support Chirag Paswan last year.
She began her political career in 2010, winning the Gaighat Assembly seat in Muzaffarpur.
Her husband, Dinesh Singh, is currently a JDU MLC.
Shambhavi Choudhary, daughter of senior JDU leader and Bihar Cabinet Minister Ashok Choudhary, has been given the ticket from Samastipur.
Sources suggest that her father played a key role in securing her candidature.
With this, LJPR has put forward a balanced mix of experienced leaders and new-generation candidates, setting the stage for a high-stakes contest in Bihar.
RLJP supported LJPR:
Meanwhile, in a significant political move, RLJP chief Pashupati Kumar Paras announced that his faction would remain with the NDA and extended support to his nephew Chirag Paswan in this election.
