Patna June 25: JD (U) and RJD announced the names of the leaders of the parliamentary party in both houses of the parliament on Tuesday.
The newly elected MPs have taken the oath in the parliament on Tuesday. Soon after it, JD (U) and RJD announce the same.
With this, Dileshwar Kamat will lead JD (U) in the Lok Sabha while Sanjay Jha was given the responsibility to lead the party in the Rajya Sabha.
Dileshwar Kamat was elected from Supaul for the second time in the Lok Sabha. He defeated Chandrahas Chaupal of RJD by 169803 votes. Kamat comes from the Mahadalit community in Bihar.
By making Dileshwar Kamat the leader of the parliamentary party, Nitish Kumar has tried to give a message to the Mahadalit community.
Sanjay Jha is considered a very close leader to Nitish Kumar. He is part of a kitchen cabinet of Nitish Kumar. He earlier worked as the Minister of Water Resources Department in the Bihar government.
Sanjay Jha has thanked Nitish Kumar through a post uploaded on the social media platform X.
“This is a proud moment for me. You (Nitish Kumar) have expressed faith in me by entrusting me with a big responsibility, I will fulfill it with complete loyalty and dedication,” Jha said in his post.
RJD has made Abhay Kushwaha, the leader of the parliamentary party in the Lok Sabha while Prem Chandra Gupta has been given this responsibility in the Rajya Sabha. Premchand Gupta is one of the close leaders of Lalu Prasad Yadav while Abhay Kushwaha joined RJD by changing sides from JDU in the Lok Sabha election.
He has won the Lok Sabha election from Aurangabad. Lalu Prasad Yadav has tried to send a message to the Kushwaha vote bank by making Abhay Kushwaha the leader of the parliamentary party.
