Leaders of ruling and opposition parties slam KK Pathak following students falling sick in schools.
Patna May 29: After more than 50 students fell sick inside various schools in Bihar, leaders of ruling and opposition parties targeted KK Pathak, the additional chief secretary of the education department and demanded strong action against him.
BJP MLC Nawal Kishore Yadav became angry with KK Pathak for his arrogant and inhuman attitude.
“The mental status of KK Pathak is not good. He has nothing to do with children, education or teachers. He has gone insane. After June 4, I will request the Chief Minister to send him to a mental hospital for treatment,” Yadav, MLC of BJP, said.
Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani also slammed KK Pathak for not allowing summer vacation to take place this year.
“Amid intense heat, KK Pathak is harassing teachers and students of Bihar. We thought that KK Pathak was a good officer who has made some good decisions but the decisions he is taking in recent days are not good especially when he is not allowing summer vacation in this scorching heat and humid conditions this year. He is just establishing his dominance in the education department,” said Mukesh Sahani, the national president of VIP.
“Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is silent on it. He should take cognizance in this matter,” Sahani said.
Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in Bihar assembly said: “The officers are arrogantly behaving in Bihar and not even listening to the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Some leaders around him allowed giving arbitrariness exemptions to officers like KK Pathak. There is no democracy in Bihar. The bureaucratic arbitrariness is at the peak.”
“Children are getting troubled in schools due to the continuous heat. It is a serious matter and should be taken seriously. If there is any negligence anywhere then the Bihar government should ensure and remove it. The way the heat is increasing, there should be adequate arrangements in the schools for the children,” said Chirag Paswan, the national president of LJPR.
“The summer holiday has to be announced immediately and If any officer is creating obstacles in it then action should be taken against him,” he said.
The heat has created havoc in Bihar with the maximum temperature reached to 47 degrees Celcius in some of the districts like Aurangabad and Sheikhpura. Despite that, the government schools are open in Bihar and students have to attend schools at 6 am. The parents complain that students are going to school with empty stomachs in the early morning and becoming the victims of dehydration due to intense heat and humid conditions.
On Wednesday, around 20 children fainted in Begusarai, around 25 in Sheikhpura and 2 in Motihari.
