Lalu Prasad Yadav said he would force BJP/RSS to conduct a caste census.
Patna, September 3: Lalu Prasad Yadav, the national president of RJD has taken a strong stance against the BJP and the RSS and said that he would force them to conduct the caste-based census in the country.
In a post on social networking platform X, Lalu Prasad Yadav said: “We would force RSS/BJP people to get the caste census done. What is their status that they will not get the caste census done? We will force them so much that they will have to do a caste census. The time has come to show the unity of Dalits, backward, tribal and poor people.”
Lalu Prasad Yadav along with his wife Rabri Devi and daughter Misa Bharti returned from Singapore on Monday evening and did not take much time to attack BJP and RSS.
The statement reflects Lalu Prasad Yadav’s aggressive stance and determination to push the BJP-led central government into conducting a nationwide caste census. The demand for a caste census is central to the RJD’s agenda, as it aims to highlight and address the socio-economic disparities faced by backward class, Dalits and other marginalized communities in India.
RJD has already been intensifying its demand for a nationwide caste census in India. Lau Prasad Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav and Jagadanand Singh have actively participated in advocating for it.
On September 1, RJD leaders of the state including Tejashwi Yadav and Jagadanand Singh sat on a one-day Dharna where they demanded not only the nationwide caste census but also the inclusion of a 65% reservation limit in the Ninth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
