Lalu Prasad Yadav re-elected RJD National President for 13th consecutive term, authorized to lead poll strategy.

Patna, July 5, 2025: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) founder Lalu Prasad Yadav has been re-elected unopposed as the party’s national president for the 13th consecutive term, extending his leadership until 2028.
The formal announcement was made during the RJD National executive meeting held at Babu Auditorium in Patna on Saturday.
The meeting, chaired by the party’s national election officer Dr. Ram Chandra Purve, also authorized Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav to take all key decisions related to the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, signaling a clear strategy and leadership structure for the party as it gears up for the 2025 polls.
Lalu Prasad Yadav elected unopposed:
Lalu Prasad Yadav had filed his nomination for the post on June 23 at the party office in Patna. With no other candidate filing nominations, Dr. Purve declared him elected unopposed.
Following his election, Lalu Yadav, accompanied by former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, greeted party leaders and workers by waving to the gathering from the stage, receiving enthusiastic applause from supporters.
Strong presence of party leadership:
The event witnessed the presence of Tejashwi Yadav, senior party leaders, MPs, MLAs, and RJD workers from across Bihar, reflecting the party’s efforts to consolidate its organization ahead of a crucial electoral battle in the state.

This step is aimed at ensuring a centralized, unified command in the party as it gears up for the October-November 2025 elections.
