Patna, March 22, 2024: RJD national President Lalu Prasad Yadav and former Bihar deputy chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav lashed out at the BJP-led central government following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing it of misusing investigative agencies to influence the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Taking to the social media platform X, Lalu Prasad Yadav wrote:
“The central government is scared of losing the battle of Lok Sabha 2024 and hence sabotaging the democracy of the country. BJP was killing democracy in the past, and its leaders will do the same in the future. They are afraid of losing the election.”
Tejashwi Yadav echoed the charge, alleging that the ruling party has imposed an “undeclared emergency”:
“Instead of contesting the Lok Sabha election in a democratic manner, the BJP is trying to win it with the help of constitutional and investigating agencies of the country. We are strongly standing with the people of Delhi.”
Kejriwal was arrested by a team of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from his Civil Lines residence in Delhi late Thursday night in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam.
He is the fourth senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader to be arrested in the case, after Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain, and Sanjay Singh.
