Jitan Ram Manjhi hits back at Tejashwi Yadav over ‘Damaad Politics’ remark.

Patna, June 24, 2025: Union Minister and Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief Jitan Ram Manjhi on Tuesday indirectly targeted Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav, intensifying the ongoing political row in Bihar over what has been dubbed as ‘Damaad Rajniti’ (son-in-law politics).

In a sharp social media post Manjhi introduced a new spin on political legacy, stating: “One who is not of the house, cannot be of anyone.”

Jitan Ram Manjhi targeted Tejashwi without taking his name:

Without naming Tejashwi directly, Jitan Ram Manjhi hinted at internal tensions within the RJD chief’s family.

He pointed to the sidelining of Tej Pratap Yadav, Tejashwi’s elder brother, and alleged that similar treatment might be extended in the future to his sisters and their husbands.

“Tejashwi has brought up the ‘Damaad’ issue to set a pretext. So that if Gabbar Singh (Lalu Prasad Yadav), ever wants to accommodate his daughters or sons-in-law in political positions, it can be denied citing this very precedent,” Manjhi said.

Tejashwi Yadav earlier gave a remark of Damaadwad to counter Pariwarwad:

This heated exchange follows Tejashwi Yadav’s criticism of the state government, where he accused the NDA leadership of nepotism after recent appointments in the various commissions.

Notably, these include Mrinal Paswan, brother-in-law of LJP leader Chirag Paswan, Devendra Kumar, son-in-law of Jitan Ram Manjhi and Sayan Kunal, son-in-law of senior JD(U) leader Ashok Choudhary.

Tejashwi Yadav also shared AI-generated content on social media to take a jibe at the Nitish Kumar government, alleging that the administration had effectively created a “Damaad Aayog.”

In response, Jitan Ram Manjhi asserted that those pointing fingers should examine their own track records on dynastic politics and family favoritism.

“Those who question political loyalty and legacy must first clean up their own backyard,” he said.

The NDA leaders including PM Narendra Modi are critical of the Lalu Prasad family in Pariwarwad (Dynastic politics).

With the 2025 Bihar assembly elections approaching, this clash over family roles in politics has become a central theme in the electoral discourse.

Personal Barbs, dynastic legacies, and political appointments are now dominating the battlefield, with leaders across party lines sharpening their attacks.
