Patna, July 24, 2025: HAM Party’s National Patron Jitan Ram Manjhi and Rashtriya Lok Morcha’s President Upendra Kushwaha met at Manjhi’s former official residence in New Delhi on Thursday, a meeting seen as significant amid rising election activity in Bihar.

While the parties are officially calling it a “formal meeting,” it is believed that discussions focused on seat-sharing within the NDA and election strategy, particularly concerning Chirag Paswan’s aggressive approach in Bihar. Sources indicate there was discussion on how effective Chirag’s strategy has been, his potential seat share, and the need to balance seat distribution among allies.

While both leaders termed it a “formal meeting,” political circles see it as significant for the NDA’s seat-sharing strategy and election preparedness in Bihar.

Post-meeting, Jitan Ram Manjhi wrote on social media that the meeting involved a “detailed discussion on the current political context of Bihar.”

What Jitan Ram Manjhi and Upendra Kushwaha want:

Jitan Ram Manjhi has openly demanded 20 assembly seats within the NDA, while Kushwaha seeks 10 seats for his party.

Manjhi currently has four MLAs and one Lok Sabha seat, while Kushwaha is a Rajya Sabha MP from the BJP quota.

Chirag Paswan’s party, meanwhile, has five MPs, giving him considerable leverage.

Upendra Kushwaha recently advised the CM to hand over the baton to his son:

This meeting gains importance as it follows Kushwaha’s recent advice to Nitish Kumar to hand over JD(U) leadership to his son Nishant, reflecting ongoing tensions within the NDA.

Despite this, Kushwaha has reiterated that the people of Bihar still trust the NDA to address their issues, unlike the Grand Alliance.

Discussions in political circles have intensified following this meeting, even as party leaders publicly deny any political agenda behind it.
