JDU candidate Abhishek Jha filed the nomination for the Tirhut MLC seat on 1st day.

Patna November 12, 2024: Abhishek Jha, a JD(U) candidate, officially entered the race for the Tirhut Graduate MLC seat by filling his nomination on day one at the divisional commissioner’s office in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.
Abhishek Jha was joined by Sitamarhi MP Devesh Chandra Thakur and his supporters as he submitted his candidacy.
Abhishek Jha is a joint NDA candidate:
This seat became vacant following Thakur’s election to the Lok Sabha from the Sitamarhi constituency, ending his 22-year tenure as the Tirhut representative in the Bihar Legislative Council.
In his statements, Jha expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and senior NDA leaders, emphasizing that he was chosen despite having no prior political background.
He highlighted that opportunities like his are possible due to the inclusive nature of JD(U) and the broader NDA alliance.
Confident of retaining the seat, Jha remarked, “The Tirhut Graduate constituency has traditionally supported the NDA.”
Abhishek Jha criticized Tejashwi Yadav:
Addressing the challenges posed by RJD’s campaign led by Tejashwi Yadav, Jha emphasized that the voters in this election are educated graduates who, he believes, will be discerning in their decision-making and aim to avoid a return to what he described as “Jungle Raj” in Bihar.
The election timeline announced by the Election Commission includes the nomination period starting on November 12 and it will conclude on November 18, with scrutiny on November 19, and the withdrawal deadline on November 21.
Voting is on December 5, and the results will be declared on December 9.
In the upcoming Tirhut Graduate MLC by-election, there is a direct contest between the JD(U) and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
The JD(U), as part of the NDA alliance, has fielded Abhishek Kumar Jha as its joint candidate, while the RJD has put forward Gopi Kishan as its official candidate.
Both parties are making significant efforts to mobilize their support bases and are confident of securing the seat.
