Patna, October 9, 2025: In a major political development, Jan Suraj Party, led by Prashant Kishor, on Thursday announced its first list of 51 candidates, positioning itself as a third front in the state’s political landscape.
Addressing a press conference in Patna, Uday Singh, the national president of Jan Suraj Party, said that the party will release the names of candidates daily from now on.
He added that of the 51 candidates announced, 7 belong to the Scheduled Castes, 17 to the OBCs, and 9 to the minority communities.

Singh also announced that the name of Jan Suraj founder Prashant Kishor is not in the list.
He will start the campaign from Raghopur in Vaishali on October 11.

Senior Jan Suraj leader and former Union Minister RCP Singh revealed the names of the candidates and declared, “We are going to create history in Bihar politics.”
Among the prominent names announced, Jagriti Thakur, granddaughter of Bharat Ratna Karpoori Thakur, will contest from Morwa. Lata Singh, daughter of RCP Singh, will contest from Asthawan in Nalanda district. Bhojpuri actor Ritesh Pandey will contest from Kargahar in Rohtas district, and renowned educationist KC Sinha will contest from Kumhrar assembly constituency in Patna.

Other candidates include Drig Narain Prasad (Valmikinagar), Sunil Kumar (Lauria), Awadesh Ram (Harsidhi), Dr. Lal Babu Prasad (Dhaka), Usha Kiran (Sursand), and Vijay Kumar Sah (Runnisaidpur), among others.

Jan Suraj Party has decided to contest the Bihar Assembly elections solo, asserting itself as a credible alternative to both the NDA and the Grand Alliance.
