Jan Suraj chief claimed JD (U) will not get 20 seats in the 2025 assembly poll.

Patna, August 13: Jan Suraj Padyatra’s architect Prashant Kishor on Tuesday claimed Nitish Kumar- led Janata Dal (United) will not get even 20 seats in the assembly election 2025.

While interacting with the media persons in Bihar’s Jamui district, Prashant Kishor said: “Whether Nitish Kumar fights alone or with BJP-RJD, the people will not give even 20 seats in 2025. In 2015, we supported him and hence the Grand Alliance government was formed in Bihar. In the 2020 assembly election, the party of Nitish Kumar reached 42 seats. The 2025 elections will result in an even more drastic outcome, with the JD (U) being “uprooted” from Bihar along with RJD. JD (U) would not even win 20 seats.”

The statement of Prashant Kishor came in response to a comment made by JD (U) state president Umesh Kushwaha, who dismissed Prashant Kishor’s political relevance in Bihar. He said that Prashant Kishor is merely running an agency and not a leader. Kushwaha even denied acknowledging Kishor and his Jan Suraj campaign as a significant player in Bihar’s political landscape. He said that he did not want to comment on him.

Jan Suraj chief, in turn, intensified his criticism by asserting that the people of Bihar will get freedom from Lalu Prasad Yadav, Nitish Kumar and BJP in 2025.

He also targeted RJD, noting that the party has been issuing letters urging members not to leave

“It is being said in the letters that if you respect Lalu Prasad Yadav’s views, then do not leave the party. What does this mean? It clearly indicates that the RJD workers are not going to stop in the name of Tejashwi Yadav. RJD is stopping them by issuing letters in the name of Lalu Prasad Yadav. I firmly believe that RJD is not a factor in 2025. Therefore, the 2025 assembly elections are going to be mainly contested between Jan Suraj and NDA,” the Jan Suraj chief said.
