Ranchi, April 21, 2024: The INDIA bloc showcased a strong display of unity at the Ulghulan Maha Rally in Jharkhand’s capital, Ranchi, on Sunday, as key opposition leaders accused the BJP-led central government of using investigative agencies to suppress rivals

INDIA bloc leaders suspected a deep conspiracy by the Centre:

Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren alleged that former CM Hemant Soren was jailed as part of a “deep conspiracy” by the BJP.

“The land for which they have arrested Hemant Soren cannot even be fought. BJP is trying to destroy the history of Jharkhand,” he said.

Champai added that the state’s tribal population—its “original natives”—is being deprived of Jharkhand’s mineral wealth.

“Those who win elections and go to Delhi cannot raise this point in Parliament. They are conspiring to finish the existence of tribal people,” he warned.

Hemant Soren, jailed for over two months in a land scam case, addressed the gathering through a letter read out by his wife, Kalpana Soren.

“I worship the people who came to the Ulgulan Maha rally. You know they conspired against me for four years and finally put me in jail in a false case. Similarly, they have jailed Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi. For the first time since independence, opposition leaders are being jailed. Despite this, I am proud that we are fighting to save democracy, the Constitution, and people’s rights,” the letter stated.

Sunita Kejriwal targeted the Centre:

Joining the attack of the INDIA bloc rally, Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, questioned the arrests.

“What is the fault of Hemant Soren and Arvind Kejriwal? Our only fault is that we built good schools, hospitals, and Mihalla clinics. Arvind’s friends went abroad for jobs, but he stayed to serve the country. They are conspiring to kill him in jail,” he alleged.

The rally, attended by several INDIA bloc leaders, comes amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, which have seen intensified clashes between the opposition alliance and the BJP over the alleged misuse of central agencies.
