Patna November 4, 2024: In preparation for the upcoming Bihar assembly Elections in 2025, the Election Commission has launched initiatives to expand the voter base, especially focusing on young voters in the Patna district.
Officials anticipated adding 1,25 lakh new voters to the existing list in Patna, targeting young adults who will reach the voting age of 18 by January 1, 2025. This initiative aims to enhance youth participation, particularly among first-time voters.
Election Commission says 49,62,654 registered voters in Patna:
The current voter statistics for Patna reveal a total of 49,62,654 registered voters, including 26,10,833 male voters, 23,51,653 female voters and 168 transgender voters. With the anticipated addition of 1.25 lakh new voters, the total count in Patna district is expected to surpass 50.8 lakh by the time of the election.
The Bihar Assembly Elections are likely to be held in September or October 2025, and the election Commission is actively working to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive voter registration process for all eligible citizens.
The focus on younger voters, who will be eligible by early 2025, reflects an effort to increase political engagement among the youth in Bihar.
The Patna district administration will initiate a voter awareness campaign from Monday aimed at encouraging youth who have turned 18 to register as voters.
The Election Commission is running a campaign, especially for first-timers:
This campaign, which will run through November 2024, is designed to reach young people across the district through interactive street plays at popular public locations and motivational sessions at educational institutions.
The last date for adding, deleting, or modifying entries in the voter list is November 24, 2024, while the claims or objections of voters will be addressed by December 24, 2024, and the updated voter list will be released on January 6, 2025.
Eligible individuals can register on the official website or through the voter helpline app of the election commission.
Those unable to apply online can complete Form 6 and submit it to their nearest Booth Level Officer (BLO) office.
Through these efforts, the district aims to ensure that all eligible young citizens are included in the voter list for the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections in 2025.
