Patna, January 26, 2025: Bihar marked the 77th Republic Day with a grand parade at Gandhi Maidan, Patna, where Governor Arif Mohammad Khan took the salute amid an impressive display of discipline, patriotism, and cultural pride.
On the occasion, 21 brave soldiers from various districts were honoured with certificates of appreciation and prize money for their outstanding service and dedication to the nation.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of Bihar and the entire country. He paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters and martyrs of India’s independence struggles, stating that the nation will forever remember their sacrifices.
The Governor Arif Mohammad Khan praised the Bihar government’s performance under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, inspired by the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, highlighting progress in areas such as development with justice, rule of law, education, healthcare, road infrastructure, electricity, and women’s empowerment.

Referring to the government’s flagship ‘Saat Nishchay’ (Seven Resolutions) program, he outlined the achievements under Resolutions 1 to 7.
He emphasized that 50 lakh jobs are promised under Resolution-2, while one crore jobs will be provided under the upcoming Resolution-3. He informed that so far, 10 lakh people have received government jobs, while 40 lakh individuals have been provided employment.

Highlighting advancements in healthcare, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan stated that the construction of medical colleges in 27 districts will be completed soon. He noted that the number of medical colleges in Bihar has doubled—from six in 2005 to twelve at present.
Emphasizing women’s empowerment, the Governor said that 50 percent reservation for women in Gram Panchayats and urban local bodies has brought transformative change.
He also mentioned that 1.40 crore women associated with the Jeevika rural livelihood program have been provided Rs 10,000 each to promote self-employment, with a provision of financial assistance p to Rs 2 lakh for better livelihood opportunities.
Additionally, work is underway to establish one model school and one degree college in every block of the state.
The Republic Day parade has 12 tableaux:
The parade featuring 12 tableaux from various government departments was a major attraction of the event.
The Transport Department’s Pink Bus service tableau won the first prize, followed by the Agriculture Department in second place, while the Energy Department’s tableau showcasing the Kaira Solar Plant secured the third prize.

In the parade awards, the Special Task Force (STF) received the honour for best professional parade, while the NCC Army Boys were awarded in the non-professional category.
The Best Platoon Commander award went to the SSB in the professional category and to the NCC in the non-professional category.
The celebrations reflect Bihar’s commitment to constitutional values, social justice, and inclusive development, reinforcing the spirit of unity and patriotism on Republic Day.
