Giriraj Singh taunted Tejashwi for acting as a contractor of a Muslim vote bank.
Patna, August 31: Giriraj Singh, the union textile minister on Saturday accused Tejashwi Yadav and other opposition leaders of acting as “Contractors” for the Muslim vote bank in the country.
The statement of Giriraj Singh came a day after Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in the Bihar assembly criticized Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for banning the two-hour prayer break on Friday.
“If leaders like Tejashwi Yadav, Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav come to power, they would declare Friday as a holiday in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, pandering to Muslims.
If such a government were formed in the country, it would turn India into another Pakistan and Bangladesh. No Hindu has ever demanded holidays for religious practices, such as worshipping Lord Hanuman on Tuesday or Lord Mahadev (Shiva) on Monday,” Singh said.
Earlier on Friday, Tejashwi Yadav criticized the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for deliberately taking actions to harass Muslims, aiming to gain cheap popularity and become a Chinese version of Yogi (Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath). He also alleged that BJP leaders have made Muslims a soft target to spread hatred, draw attention from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and polarize society.
“All religions of people including Muslims except those associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), played a role in the freedom struggle of India. As long as we are present, the rights of Muslims would be protected, and no harm would come to them,” Yadav said on Friday.
Giriraj Singh, in response, denied the assertions of Tejashwi Yadav and said that this is not an issue about Hindu-Muslim dynamics but about upholding the principle of “one country, one law.”
