Patna, October 4, 2025: After a high-level meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in Patna on Saturday, Dilip Jaiswal said his party has submitted several suggestions to ensure free and fair elections in Bihar.
Speaking to the reporters, Jaiswal said the BJP has recommended the deployment of central paramilitary forces in villages dominated by backward, extremely backward, and Dalit communities, followed by flag marches to instill voter confidence.
He further suggested the use of horse-rider brigades in Diara, Taal and villages come in between the river banks and embankment to prevent booth capturing.
Dilip Jaiswal suggested timely voter slip distribution:
Dilip Jaiswal also raised concerns about past lapses in voter slip distribution.
“In the last election, slips were not distributed in time. We have appealed to the election body to ensure timely delivery of slips, coupled with SMS alerts and webcasting one or two days prior to polling,” he said.
The BJP has also demanded comprehensive CCTV surveillance at polling stations.
The party urged the CEC to consider conducting the election in one or two phases in Bihar to reduce expenses and ease the burden on institutions engaged in the process.
On women voters, Dilip Jaiswal stressed that women in burquas should be verified by female officers to match faces with voter ID cards.
CEC urged political parties to collect Form 17C:
Jaiswal also quoted the CEC, saying, “He has made it clear that once polling ends, party polling agents must collect Form 17C. Many times, agents leave early and later raise allegations. Collecting Form 17C will clear any doubts regarding EVMs, Control Units and VVPATs.
Regarding the election scheduled, Dilip Jaiwal said the BJP has requested him to announce the polling date immediately after the mandatory 28-day period following the imposition of the model code of conduct.
