Dilip Jaiswal said Mamata Banerjee’s statement reflecting her madness.
Patna, August 30: Dilip Jaiswal, the president of BJP Bihar, slammed West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the potential impact of violence in Bengal on other states.
“If any leader says this, then it is sheer madness. When the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir was being discussed, some separatist group leaders made similar claims that the entire country would burn. What happened to that? The 140 crore people of the country responded with a slap on their faces. The West Bengal Chief Minister should focus on her job and stop protecting criminals. She has allegedly been shielding criminals and is now facing criticism. She is making such statements to protect his image.”
The statement of Dilip Jaiswal came after a meeting of the BJP in Patna. The saffron party is set to launch a nationwide membership program starting from September 2.
The BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda will kick off this program by making PM Narendra Modi a member of the party. Once he becomes a member, the BJP will start the same across the country.
Jaiswal’s comment reflects the BJP’s stance on Mamata Banerjee’s remarks and emphasizes the party’s readiness to expand its membership drive while critiquing opposition leaders.
Reacting to the RJD’s planned Dharna demonstration on the issue of a caste-based census and inclusion of 65% reservation in the ninth schedule of the constitution, Dilip Jaiswal said, “I have already asked Tejashwi Yadav to come with me to a temple and take oath that he or any other leaders of his party are not corrupt. I will only respect his statements from the day he takes an oath, affirming that he is not corrupt.”
When asked about the claim of union minister Giriraj Singh who claimed some members of the Muslim community were allegedly involved in past incidents of train derailments, Dilip Jaiswal said, “He is a senior leader of BJP and also a union minister. He might have some evidence to support his claims. I do not have any knowledge about it, but such possibilities cannot be ruled out.”
