Dehri Dalmianagar’s industrial glory is expected to be back soon.

Patna January 9, 2025: The Bihar government is looking to rejuvenate industrial activity in the Dehri Dalmianagar area of Rohtas district. It would be a significant step towards economic development and addressing unemployment in the region.

Once a thriving industrial hub, Dehri-Dalmianagar is now witnessing efforts to regain its lost glory, with the state prioritizing Rohtas among other districts for industrial development.

The closure of industries such as Rohtas Udyog Group, Jhula Udyog Unit, and PPCL has contributed to high unemployment rates.

The government aims to create job opportunities by establishing new industries and supporting small and domestic units.

Bihar government officials’ land inspection and proposal:

A joint inspection of potential industrial land in Dehri Dalmianagar was conducted by officials from the Bihar Government’s Industry Department, district authorities, and Zinal officers.

Approximately 250 acres of land in Dehri Dalmianagar have been proposed for industrial development and submitted to the state’s Industry Division.

Villages in Dehri and Shivsagar, including Bhaluari, Bharkudia, Bhatauli, Durgapur, and Tardih, were identified for this purpose.

They have been inspected and have been deemed suitable for industrial use, with detailed reports already submitted to the concerned department.

Strategic Significance:

Reviving the industrial status of Dehri-Dalmianagar is expected to spur economic growth and development in the region.

This step aligns with broader state initiatives to attract investment by offering facilities and infrastructure support to industrial houses.

Thousands of jobs are likely to be created, directly benefiting the local population. Enhanced industrial activity will contribute to the economic revival of the district.

The initiative aims to bring back the industrial prominence of Dehri-Dalmianagar, leveraging its historical identity as an industrial hub.

The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) will oversee the development of the land as part of the state government’s industrialization scheme.

Dehri Dalmianagar will be equipped with facilities to attract and support various industries.

Historical Context:

Dehri-Dalmianagar was once synonymous with industrial activity in Bihar, known for its cement factories and other industries.

Over the years, industrial decline led to unemployment and turned the factories into ruins, with equipment left as junk in Dehri Dalmianagar area.

The government’s current efforts aim to reverse this trend by revitalizing the industrial landscape.

This initiative is a testament to the government’s commitment to regional development and promises a brighter future for the people of Rohtas.

The transformation of this once-declining region into a buzzing industrial area could serve as a model for similar projects across the state.
