CM Nitish Kumar unveils mascot and logo for Asia Rugby U-20 championship 2025 in Bihar.

Patna, August 2, 2025: In a landmark moment for Bihar’s sports history, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday evening unveiled the mascot and logo for the upcoming Asia Rugby Under-20 Championship 2025, which is set to be hosted for the first time in the state.

The unveiling ceremony took place in the presence of prominent actor Rahul Bose at Sankalp, 1 Anne Marg, an official residence of the Chief Minister.  

Apart from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Rahul Bose, two Deputy Chief Ministers, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, were also present.

Speaking at the event, Nitish Kumar expressed pride in Bihar’s growing reputation in the field of rugby.

“It is a matter of great happiness that Bihar will host the Asia Rugby U-20 Championship for the first time. Rugby is gaining immense popularity here, and this international tournament will inspire youth while putting Bihar’s sporting culture on the global map,” Kumar said.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also emphasized the rapid strides made by Bihar’s rugby players at the national level and noted that this championship will motivate young athletes, boost infrastructure, and increase international visibility for the state.

The Chief Minister added that hosting the championship will set a new milestone in the rugby world of Asia and help strengthen Bihar’s identity as an emerging sports hub.

Championship details:

The Asia Rugby Championship will be held on August 9 and 10 at the state sport academy-cum Bihar sports university campus, Rajgir.

A total of 16 teams from 9 countries, including India, China, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Nepal, will participate in the event.
